Actonians Girls FC and WUKA Team Up to Tackle Period Stigma in Sport
When I’m not working at Olsights or capturing the incredible talent at CTA, you’ll find me on the side-lines, running the girls’ section at Actonians LFC.
Earlier this year, I was approached by WUKA — the UK’s leading reusable period underwear brand — to take part in their nationwide “Tackle Anything” campaign. The initiative aims to keep girls active and engaged in sport through puberty, addressing the alarming statistics that 1 in 2 girls drop out of sport after primary school and 71% avoid physical activity during their periods.
I was proud to facilitate and complete this meaningful collaboration between the two organisations. It was a real highlight to capture the moment the girls received their free WUKA pants — and then the first games with the WUKA logo proudly displayed on their match day shorts.
